In 3 to 5 business days: a structured, clear PDF, ready to send to your contractors to get truly comparable quotes.
What you get
A document that works for you
The scope of work is written to be sent directly to contractors, not to sit in a drawer.
Scope of work
Clear limits of the project, interfaces with the existing building, constraints identified: everything the contractor needs to know before quoting.
Inclusions & exclusions
What is included, what is not, and what remains to be confirmed. Fewer ambiguities mean fewer extras during the work.
Quality criteria
Materials, finishes, methods and equivalents defined in writing. Every contractor knows exactly what level of quality is expected.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
I don't have plans yet — is that a problem?
No. The scope of work is based on what you have: photos, approximate measurements, a description of your project. We adapt to what you can provide and identify what remains to be confirmed.
What is the difference between a scope of work and a contractor's quote?
The contractor's quote is the price they offer you. The scope of work is what YOU define before asking for a price: the scope, the materials, the criteria. It is your document, not theirs.
Does the scope of work guarantee there will be no extras?
It cannot eliminate every unknown; some only appear once walls are opened. But it greatly reduces extras caused by unclear information, omissions and vague assumptions, which are the most common cause of surprises on site.
What types of work is it relevant for?
Bathroom, kitchen or basement renovation, roofing, windows, exterior cladding, structural work: any project for which you will ask contractors for quotes benefits from a clear scope of work.
